Bradford Lee, a substitute teacher and resident, said the board had postponed action on Title-related amendments and asked for a specific estimate of "how much it is going to cost if we don't comply," saying he could not responsibly vote without understanding that risk and cost.
The board discussed these public concerns alongside internal governance questions. Members debated whether to restore a short "Once Around the Table" agenda item (a motion to add it failed on a roll call). Separately, the board discussed a professional-conduct complaint and the role of legal counsel; the superintendent said the district's attorney was engaged and that the complaint process would be followed.
A motion passed to invite the Wasby/School Perceptions consultant back to present and help the board narrow and prioritize a lengthy list of survey findings; the board recorded a roll-call vote with six members in favor and one opposed. The consultant engagement will be used to identify two or three priority areas for board development work; the board also discussed timing and full board participation as conditions for constructive development sessions.
Next steps: Wasby (School Perceptions) will be invited to present and facilitate internal prioritization of survey findings; legal counsel will continue to advise on the pending conduct complaint and any investigation outcomes will be reported back to the board.
