The superintendent asked the board to support a proposal that would allow staff on professional development days to choose whether to work in their classrooms or in the building, or to complete some duties from home if appropriate for the assigned work. A board member moved to approve the proposal; the motion passed by voice vote and was recorded in the meeting as 6–0 in favor.
On policy changes, the board moved to add policy 5430 (class rank) and policy 5610.03 (alternatives to expulsion and re‑entry), to revise the policies listed under item B2 on the agenda, and to eliminate policy 416 (controlled substance and alcohol policy for employees who transport students). The motion was seconded and the board approved the package by voice vote (recorded as 6–0).
The board also approved the spring 2025 Early College Credit Plan and Start College Now courses that had been discussed at the recent work session. During the consent agenda vote, the board approved personnel updates, athletics and activities updates, minutes from Oct. 21 and Nov. 4 and board bills; members publicly thanked longtime student council advisors Don pier and Ryan hering for their service and noted their resignations.
