Raymond board approves switch to a widely used procurement card program, will close Elon card

The Raymond #14 School District board voted Feb. 17 to authorize the district president to enter an agreement with the Bank of Montreal to provide procurement cards for authorized employees under standard program terms. The board also discussed sunsetting the district’s current Elon card.
Administrators said the change would yield program benefits used by many districts, including rebate opportunities and a slightly higher available monthly limit (administration noted the Elon account had about $27,000 available and the proposed program offered roughly $30,000). Board members emphasized that existing policies (cited by reference to board policy numbers) govern card use, require authorization and restrict personal use.
The resolution authorizes the business manager or superintendent to execute the program agreement on the district's behalf and passed by voice vote. The administration indicated that, once the new program is in place, the Elon card account would be closed and proper steps taken to transition card access and policy controls.
