Platteville to centralize athletics communications with Sports U, officials say

The Platteville School District announced plans to adopt Sports U as the district's centralized platform for athletic schedules and coach-parent communication, officials said at the board meeting.
Presenters showed a demonstration and described Sports U as a free interface that allows coaches to post schedules, cancelations and bus-time changes and lets administrators audit postings. The district contrasted Sports U with the previously used Arbiter product, which is a paid service. Officials said Sports U gives district administrators oversight, reduces direct coach-to-student texting on personal accounts and provides a single place for parents, coaches and staff to check schedules.
Administrators said the football team and several middle-school activities already use the app and that the district hopes to expand adoption to middle-school advisers and youth programs so families have one familiar platform as students progress through grades. The presenter framed the change as a student-safety measure and an efficiency gain for parents who now juggle multiple apps.
The presentation was informational; the board did not take a formal vote on procurement during the meeting. Officials said they will continue implementation and outreach to coaches, advisers and youth groups.
