Grant recipients included Jacob Teasdale (dry-erase tables and wall whiteboards for collaborative math), Andrea Honiki (flexible seating for students with IEPs), Brent Neim (lesson-recording equipment), and others who described classroom uses ranging from VR headsets for speech and occupational therapy to a two-color 3D printer for high-school Project Lead The Way. Several grants were funded above the amounts requested.
Separately, the board presented a Staff Excellence award to Heather (accounts payable), praising her for handling a broad set of district responsibilities, coordinating grant accounts, tracking invoices for the building project, and completing professional certifications. Heather accepted the award and thanked colleagues and mentors.
Administrators said EIE has supported teachers since 2008 and that grant requests this year totaled about $21,000; the board funded roughly $24,373. The foundation also plans continued fundraising, including a new pickleball tournament and an annual winter dinner fundraiser.
Next steps: administrators will notify recipients, coordinate purchases, and incorporate grant-funded items into school inventories.
