The Monroe School District Board approved base wage agreements with two bargaining units following a closed session that addressed administrator and exempt staff compensation.
After reconvening, the board voted to approve the negotiated base wage agreement with the Monroe Area Association of Support Staff and then approved the base wage agreement with the Monroe Education Association (the teachers’ unit). Both motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; the meeting record does not include a roll-call tally for each approval.
Administrators said these agreements resulted from negotiations conducted by the administration and the employee relations committee in partnership with association representatives. No contract amounts or specific wage schedules were read into the public record during the open session; administrators indicated the agreements were negotiated and presented as final.
The board discussed that these are substantial personnel agreements and noted follow-up work on policy items and timelines for further readings. Administration will complete final documentation for each agreement and proceed with implementation steps such as payroll updates and notification to affected employees.
Next steps: finalize and distribute executed agreements and update payroll and human-resources records.
