The Monroe School District Board voted to accept two corporate sponsorship agreements for the new high school at Monday’s meeting.
Faith Engineering will provide $50,000 payable over 10 years for the naming rights to the metals classroom. Interim Superintendent Joe recommended the agreement, saying Faith Engineering’s CEO Jim Faith is an alumnus and a longtime supporter of the district’s career and technical education programs. "Jim's passion for the trades and his continued support of our CTE program has been invaluable," Joe said during the presentation. The motion to approve the sponsorship passed on a voice vote.
The board also approved a five-year, $25,000 agreement with SSM Health Monroe Hospital for lifetime naming rights to the stadium ticket booth. Administrators said SSM Health viewed the sponsorship as consistent with its focus on fitness and wellness. Board members expressed gratitude for community partners stepping forward to support facilities and programming.
Both approvals were made by motions from board members, seconded and carried by voice votes; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting minutes. Administrators said the sponsorship funds will be used to support maintenance and ongoing facility needs associated with the new high school.
The approvals came as part of a broader update on the high school project, which administrators said remains on schedule and on budget. The board did not identify any formal restrictions on signage or programmatic influence as part of the sponsorships during the public discussion.
Next steps: administration will finalize contracts with each sponsor and coordinate signage and recognition consistent with the district’s branding plan.
