The Sultan School District board approved a package of routine items on July 22 including a 2024 surplus sale, a nomination to accept proceeds from an IBEW charity event to help pay meal debts, adoption of the Capital Facilities Plan, a high-school gutter replacement addition and several personnel contracts and schedules.
Trustees approved the nomination of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) to designate the district as a potential recipient of proceeds from an August 17 event; district staff said the IBEW email listed about $9,300 to pay off meal debts for current and next-year seniors. The board also approved the second read and adoption of the Capital Facilities Plan and authorized adding the high school building to a gutter-replacement project under the 2022 Capital Levy scope.
Personnel approvals included three grant-funded student-support advocate contracts (Bethany P., Elizabeth Emmons and Mariana Medina) with a clerical correction changing paid holidays from 12 to 13, approval of the athletic and youth program director contract (Chris Hill), and approval of certificated administrator contracts/salary schedules with the same holiday correction where needed. The board also approved the 2024–25 meeting calendar.
Most items passed by voice vote; board members asked staff to publish project receipts and post links to the completed capital levy projects. No large controversies were recorded on these agenda items.
