Sultan School Board approves consent agenda, reorganizes officers and advances several policy items

At its December meeting the Sultan School District board handled annual organizational business and several policy actions.
The board approved the consent agenda by voice vote. During reorganization, members nominated and elected officers for the coming year (the board processed nominations and roll‑call votes for president and vice‑president). The board also assigned committee and liaison roles for members, including WIA, CAC, instructional materials oversight, mental‑health advisory liaison and facilities/transportation liaisons.
On policy business the board moved to table the second read of policy 2125 to allow the district’s mental‑health advisory committee to review updates and contact information; the motion to table carried. The board approved the second read of policy 2022 by voice vote. For policy 6702 (local wellness), the board approved the first read and adopted the associated procedure, and directed staff to form a wellness committee that will meet twice a year and return recommended revisions to the board.
The board also gave conditional approval for overnight travel for a student representative to attend the WASDA legislative conference on January 11–12, contingent on receipt of the appropriate paperwork. The chair closed board business and adjourned the meeting.
Votes recorded at the meeting were procedural and personnel/administrative in nature; no ordinances, resolutions or contracts requiring separate legal numbering were considered.
