The West Point School Board reorganized its leadership at the first meeting of the calendar year, electing a chair and vice chair by voice vote and approving routine organizational items.
Dr. Fraser recommended that the board appoint Mr. Leach, the assistant superintendent, to serve as the superintendent’s designate in the superintendent’s absence; the board accepted the recommendation. The board also confirmed meeting dates for 2025, continuing regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month with closed session beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the regular meeting at 6:00 p.m., and provided a packet listing all meetings for the year.
The reorganization portion of the meeting included several procedural motions that carried by voice vote. The board then moved on to recognitions and scheduled committee assignments and retreats for further governance discussions.
The board did not record roll‑call tallies in the transcript; routine organizational motions were recorded in the minutes as carried by voice vote. The code of conduct item was discussed later in the meeting and was slated for further review at an upcoming retreat.
