Rockwood reports strong assessment, AP and graduation results in annual report

Buddy Sodman, director of research, evaluation and assessment, told the board that Rockwood earned 90% of the points possible on Missouri’s MSIP accountability system—placing the district in roughly the top 12% of public and charter districts statewide among similarly sized districts. The presentation showed growth on MAP assessments in language arts and math, with Rockwood outperforming state averages in all four tested content areas, and reported MAP and benchmark growth across multiple grade levels.
On college‑readiness measures, the district reported an ACT composite average of 22.7 for the class of 2025, with 37% meeting ACT college-readiness benchmarks—above state and national averages cited in the presentation. Advanced Placement scores were strong: more than 91% of Rockwood students who took AP exams scored a 3 or higher, and the district average AP score rose to about 3.87. The four‑year graduation rate reported was about 97%, and the district said roughly 90% of graduates were pursuing further education or military service while 7% entered the workforce.
Board members asked how the report would be shared; communications staff said the district mails two “Rockwood News” newsletters to every resident and posts the annual report online at annualreport.rsdmmo.org. Presenters described how results inform building-level improvement plans and daily instruction through benchmark reports and teacher-facing data used to form intervention and extension groups.
