District updates progress on Highland and PV Tech projects; expects majority of state bond funds soon

Jonathan presented a Capital Improvements and site-specific project update to the board. He showed photos and status notes on projects across the district: cafeteria expansion, exterior siding and interior finishes at the Arches building, synthetic turf installation and a completed team room, and plumbing and trenching work at PV Tech.
He said Highland High School's auxiliary bleachers were expanded by three rows on each side to increase capacity but noted egress and fire-code limits keep the capacity below 1,000 for that space. Insurance discussions are ongoing; the district has authorized funding in case insurance does not cover all costs and reported the insurer may pay for a portion of the new rows.
On funding, Jonathan told trustees the district expects about 80% of its state bond allocation by month-end — he referenced roughly "35 million" as the anticipated amount available soon — and that remaining funding should arrive in February. He also reminded the board that ESER federal funds must be obligated by Sept. 30 with construction and payments completed by Dec. 31; several CIP items will be covered by ESER expenditures this cycle.
Administration said PV Tech remains in active use while interior work proceeds and that staff are coordinating OAC and weekly construction meetings. Trustees asked for ongoing funding updates and noted the importance of coordinating bids and contracts as construction moves toward bid and implementation phases.
