The Freeburg CCSD 70 board approved several routine and operational items during the meeting, including a five-year renewal of its transportation letter of understanding, a one-year bus lease to a neighboring district, adoption of a policy revision on special-meeting notice and approval of two leaves of absence.
On transportation, administration presented a proposed five-year renewal of the transportation agreement with Freeburg High School and neighboring districts (District 77, District 130 and District 30); the board approved the renewal by roll call. The board also approved a one-year lease of an extra bus to District 30 for $16,640 for the coming year on a year-to-year arrangement. The board adopted the second reading of a board policy revision to include electronic mail notification at least 48 hours before special meetings; a board member clarified that the 48 hours meant straight calendar hours. The board approved a one-year leave of absence for teacher Jennifer Del for the 2024–25 school year and a leave for custodian Sherry Swala beginning March 4, 2024. Motions for bills and the consent agenda were approved earlier in the meeting.
The board also moved into executive session to consider personnel and litigation matters. The meeting adjourned after the executive-session motion and subsequent votes.
