District says ELA and math scores rose; RTI caseloads reported

Jenner, the district reading specialist, told the board the district completed fall FastBridge benchmark screenings and began RTI (Response to Intervention) services on Sept. 9. She said 89 students are receiving RTI services at the primary center and 71 at the elementary school, covering both reading and math interventions.
Jenner summarized assessment performance: ELA meets-and-exceeds increased by 6.7 percentage points from the prior year to 59.1% districtwide; math meets-and-exceeds rose by 5 percentage points to 47%. Science showed a decline of about 3.9 points year over year but remained high at a 74% meets-and-exceeds rate compared with a stated state average of 52.2%.
Jenner thanked teachers, staff and parents, noted upcoming family engagement events and said building-level teams (BLT) would set goals using the data. The report included enrollment and attendance numbers; the district reported a total enrollment of 737 students (down two from the prior month).
Why it matters: the assessment improvements are a primary metric for instructional decision-making, and the RTI caseload numbers and BLT goal-setting indicate planned targeted interventions for students who are below benchmark.
