Board hears updates on bus deliveries, water leak and bus-stop enforcement
Summary

Melvin reported staff located the leaking service feeding the Fieldhouse, shut the valve and verified the meter read zero, though the precise location of the break remains unknown. "We stopped the bleeding for now," Melvin said, describing the temporary fix.
A staff member reported that the electric bus vendor contact, Steve Ellis of Green Power Motors, has left the company; the district will seek the new contact to follow up on the electric bus. "Our two diesel buses did show up; they're both on site," the staff member added, noting the transportation inspector will inspect the buses once they are road-ready.
The board addressed a safety concern when a member praised Deputy Shite for issuing citations to drivers who did not stop for bus stop red signs, calling it an important enforcement step for student safety. The board also discussed an arcing work-light switch in Room 310 at the high school; staff said they swapped the switch to resolve the arcing.
Members briefly discussed school calendar counts and the impact of mandatory teacher trainings on instructional continuity; the board agreed to review an email summary of completed weeks and revisit the calendar at the next meeting. Post-meeting staff noted the district granted five free snow days and will bring staff in to trade those days for comp time as needed.
The board did not take formal votes on the operational updates; staff will continue follow-up work and inspections as described.
