Board approves MOU with Emergency Rescue Squad and renews Tiny Tots lease

The board approved two community-facing agreements during the meeting: a memorandum of understanding with the Pendleton County Emergency Rescue Squad and renewal of a daycare lease.
The superintendent recommended the MOU that provides $250 per game to the volunteer rescue squad for coverage at high-school football games and an additional $250 when a second ambulance must be requested for transport. "It basically provides them a stipend of $250 per game for the first Rescue Squad and another 250 per game if they have to... request a second ambulance," the superintendent said. The board approved the MOU by voice vote.
The board also renewed the Tiny Tots daycare lease for the fiscal year July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025, keeping the same terms and a monthly rent of $1,500 (annualized at $18,000). The superintendent noted the rent was adjusted last year to account for water-billing issues and that the district remains responsible for building maintenance. The board approved the renewal by voice vote.
Both items were approved without recorded roll-call tallies; motions carried by voice vote.
