The Pendleton County Schools Board of Education approved a package of personnel and contract actions at its July meeting, accepting a slate of resignations and retirements and approving a recommended set of hires and service contracts.
The superintendent presented the personnel list, which included the resignations of a bus driver and several teachers and support staff and recommended the board accept them. "You have my recommendation to accept the resignations and retirements as presented," the superintendent said. The board approved the recommendation by voice vote.
The board also approved hiring recommendations that included itinerant special-education placements, long-term substitute teachers, medical-administration support and substitute employees, among others. The superintendent noted one teacher who resigned and requested placement on the district substitute list; the board approved that arrangement as part of the employment motion.
Board members then approved the purchase of planning periods for several staff and the district's renewal of selected professional contracted services, including physical-therapy services with Pendleton Manor. "I have my recommendation for the approval of purchase of planning periods as presented and for the professional contracted services with Pendleton Manor for physical therapy services," the superintendent said; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board did not record individual roll-call tallies in the transcript; actions were passed by voice vote with no opposition announced. The meeting packet lists the names of employees referenced for the personnel actions.
