Jonathan Balls, business-operations director, said crews completed the power reroute that had been supplying upper B through the D-wing hall, and that demolition has progressed on the cafeteria, half the gym and the weight room area. “The power reroute through the D-wing hall is complete,” Balls said, adding that crews smoothed concrete floors and scraped the weight room to prepare for the next construction stage.
Balls said architects are expected to present initial exterior renderings at the November work session and that foundational work and major digging will occur in spring to avoid student-safety conflicts during occupied months. He also described ongoing finishing work at PBTech and smaller items that remain on punch lists.
On a separate motion, the board granted staff permission to bid a list of potential capital-project contracts for the 2025–26 school year. Trustees noted that any individual project estimated above $75,000 will be brought back to the full board for separate approval. The motion passed (tally not specified).
No contract awards were finalized at the meeting; staff said bids will return for committee and board review before commitments are made.
