Fayette County Schools honors students with perfect WVGSA writing scores

The Fayette County Schools board opened its meeting by recognizing students who earned perfect scores on the WVGSA writing assessments. Miss Douly introduced the students, noting that 17 pupils from the county achieved perfect results across grade levels and giving statewide context for each grade-level test.
Miss Douly said the recognitions were meant to celebrate both student work and family support: "I hope you like our fireworks that we have. And this is in celebration of our students who scored perfect on the WVGSA writing portion of the exam." She asked families to come forward so the district could photograph the students for the district website.
Board members said the perfect scores contributed to significant county growth in ELA and praised staff and families for the results. The board then moved on to a scheduled presentation and other business.
