The Platteville School District Board approved a health insurance renewal brought forward by the operations committee that increases premiums by 7.2% and adjusts high-deductible levels, administrators said.
The administration recommended keeping the same carrier (Dean) under "option three," noting a 7.2% increase in cost. Under the recommended plan the high-deductible option rises to $2,500 for individuals and $5,000 for families; the district will continue to contribute the same amounts to employees' health savings accounts.
A staff member from operations presented the details and fielded no further questions from the board. The board approved the recommendation by voice vote (motion by Kurt, second by Betsy).
Board members were not provided with a district-wide dollar estimate of the total premium increase in the meeting record; administrators said the overall contribution to employees' HSAs will remain unchanged. The change to deductibles and the noted premium increase will take effect for the 2025-26 plan year.
