School resource officer reports 23 October incidents, spike in threat assessments

The Warren County School Board heard a condensed monthly report from the district’s school resource officer outlining disciplinary incidents and threat assessments.
The officer said, “For the month of October, we had 23 total offenses… six at Skyline Middle, eight at Skyline High, two at Warren County Middle, and seven at Warren County High.” The officer grouped incident types on a new, easier-to-read graph that separated assaults, computer/child-pornography–related offenses, THC vape incidents (classified in the report as drug-related), threat assessments and weapons offenses.
Officials noted a notable early increase in threat assessments this October, earlier than the typical November–December uptick around the holiday season. The officer said the year-to-date total for the current school year (August–October) is 63 incidents and that staff are preparing comparative year-over-year charts to determine whether the district is tracking up, down or level compared with last year.
The officer said principals who had findings were asked to provide corrective-action plans and that the new graphical format is intended to make trends and school-level patterns clearer for the board. Board members responded positively to the new format and offered no substantive objections.
The board did not take formal action on the report; staff said they will continue monthly reporting and will provide comparative year-to-year data when available.
