The Plaquemines Parish Council used its April 23 session to adopt a number of routine but substantive administrative and land‑use items.
Among the adopted measures:
- Ordinance No. 26‑51 approved a resubdivision by Riverlane Development Company in Eldorado Subdivision (Lots B‑2A and B‑2B); Ordinances No. 26‑53, 26‑54 and 26‑55 approved resubdivisions for properties in the Arthur Becnel Division, Lake Hermitage and Ollie Plantation, respectively. All were adopted on roll call with Council Member Mitch Jurisich recorded as absent.
- Resolution No. 26‑154 approved several liquor and beer permits for 2026, including Sudz Tavern (Big Drink, LLC), Bayou One Stop (MIM Management LLC), Da Dock Bar and Grill LLC, Woodland Plantation, LLC and Alex’s Lounge (Ten Times Ten, Inc.).
- Resolution No. 26‑153 accepted the low bid and authorized a one‑year generator furnishing contract with ARCCO Company Services Inc., authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue purchase orders as needed and the Parish President to execute the contract through April 22, 2027.
- Construction permit Application No. 2026‑297 for LLOX, LLC to install a proposed drilling rig (LLOX SL 22331 Wells #1) was approved; two council members (Champagne and Cognevich) recorded abstentions on that vote.
- The council approved special permits en globo for a fireworks stand renewal for Campagna Properties, a trailer residence for Sarah Sylve (130 Morris Lane) and a new residence for David Rauch (909 Grand Bayou Way).
- Ordinance No. 26‑56 amended the 2026 General Fund to appropriate $20,000 from an NRPA (National Recreation and Park Association) grant for swimming lessons, tree planting, job skills training and transportation under Recreation Facilities & Services. Ordinance No. 26‑57 authorized budgeting of donations totaling $4,500 for “Plaquemines Parish Day” at the Louisiana Legislature, listing donors and amounts (Linfield, Hunter & Junius $1,000; Kyle Associates LLC $1,000; Inframark LLC $1,000; Optimum Air Solutions LLC $1,000; Chris Leopold Specialty Co. $500).
- Resolution No. 26‑159 authorized Council Attorney Dannie Garrett to represent the parish in Midway Cattle Ranch, LLC, et al v. Plaquemines Parish Government (USDC‑EDLA, 2:17‑CV‑07468).
- Resolution No. 26‑160 authorized assignment of the Port Eads Lot C lease from Chalin O. “COP” Perez to William Joshua Ladner; the lease term was stated to extend through August 31, 2042.
- The council approved the April 9, 2026 minutes (Resolution No. 26‑161) and adjourned at 3:09 p.m.
