The committee voted by roll call to enter executive session to consult with the city solicitor on labor negotiations and then returned to hear a tentative collective bargaining agreement reached with AFSCME Local 250 (part‑time municipal workers).
Staff described the agreement as a three‑year contract with wage increases of 5% in year one, 4% in year two and 3% in year three. The contract also includes a one‑time lump sum payment of $750 in each of the first two years as part of the economic benefits. "This is, a contract, that is a 3 year deal, includes, wage increases of 5%, 4%, and 3% across each of the 3 years, with a 1 time lump sum payment in each of the first 2 years of $750," the staff presenter told the committee.
The chair thanked negotiators and the committee placed the item on for passage to full council. The committee did not adopt the contract in open session; the meeting record shows the item was advanced for formal consideration at council.
