Student leaders spoke to the board about leadership-class activities, homecoming planning and student recognitions.
A student who identified herself as Charlotte opened the presentation and read a list of students-of-the-month and most-improved winners for each grade level. Student leaders described the homecoming theme, the grade-level float themes (seniors: blue; juniors: Candy Land; sophomores: The Game of Life; freshmen: [theme not specified]) and their work on posters and social-media promotion. They confirmed the homecoming date as Oct. 26 and said preparations include posters, props and Instagram promotion.
“We’ve been doing a lot of work on the homecoming dance… I’ve been in charge of the Instagram account and game digital posters,” a student leader said. Board members thanked students for their involvement and encouraged them to stay for the meeting; one board member asked whether students had any concerns about student experience, and the students said not at this time.
