Contracts and renewals: The board approved continuation of the district's UC Merced CEP partnership intended to increase college access; approved a three-year renewal of ParentSquare (district communication platform) after trustees noted roughly 25% parent engagement; and approved a one-year extension of the Read 180 subscription for targeted reading intervention.
Procurement: Nutrition Services was authorized to procure and install equipment and kiosks for Merced High School using a piggyback contract (Sweetwater Union High School District bid #23-2847-DP) funded from Fund 13 spending plans.
Personnel and resolutions: The board adopted Resolution 9-25 to terminate classified services for lack of work and/or funds for specified positions, completing earlier steps recommended in January. Motions were moved, seconded and recorded as passing during the meeting.
Safety services: Trustees approved an MOU with the Merced County Sheriff's Department to provide up to four school-resource deputies at designated high schools for the 26-29 school years at an annual payment not to exceed $938,848 plus up to $100,000 for overtime.
Development fees: The board also conducted a public hearing and approved Resolution 10-25 to adopt the updated developer-fee study; residential and commercial fee adjustments were approved (see separate facilities coverage).
