Atwater High students tout leadership class as driver of school spirit and community service

ASB president Veil Dominguez said the program drew about 150 sign-ups and "from the 150 students, we kept 105 students," adding that "all 105 students in leadership have at least a 3 GPA," and that elected officers have at least a 3.5 GPA. Student leaders said roughly 90% of seniors in the leadership class plan to attend college.
The students described signature events such as homecoming, rallies, prom and the Wish Rally, and credited staff advisors for supporting 44 campus clubs and community-service projects. Bragg told the board he's been at the school for nearly two decades and praised his students'growth, while Principal Parley and multiple trustees commended the program's consistency and outcomes.
Trustees asked about student engagement and whether Atwater has experienced declines other sites reported; student and staff presenters said participation remains strong. The board praised the program's volunteer-driven staffing and its role in developing students'leadership and community ties.
The presentation concluded with trustees wishing seniors well and thanking staff for their support of student activities; the board then moved to public comment and other agenda items.
