Drainage board conditionally approves Harrison cafeteria expansion, ratifies McCutcheon sports complex

The Tippecanoe County Drainage Board on April 1 conditionally approved the Harrison High School Cafeteria expansion and ratified a prior conditional approval for the McCutcheon High School Sports Complex.

Karen Collins of Civil & Environmental Consultants presented the Harrison High School work at 5701 North 50 West. The school plans to expand the north-side cafeteria, replace both visitor and home grandstands, add concessions and a ticket booth at the football field, renovate and enlarge the north locker room and replace a sanitary lift station. The project adds about 6.04 acres of disturbance and includes a small dry detention basin on the north side of the football field to capture additional impervious runoff and release it to the north; staff said the site generally drains to Burnett Creek. County staff recommended conditional approval consistent with the Burke memo dated March 25, 2026; the board granted the conditional approval.

Collins also reported on McCutcheon High School’s Sports Complex, which had been presented at the March 4 meeting. The board ratified the prior conditional approval after staff confirmed downstream landowner notification to the north.

David S. Byers made the motions for approval and ratification, both seconded by Thomas P. Murtaugh; the minutes record the motions as carried.
