The Tippecanoe County Drainage Board voted April 1 to approve the Lafayette 11 B Sewer Extension, a two-branch addition tied to the previously authorized Wea Lift Station.
Sam Robertson of HWC Engineering described the project as two extensions: an east extension running from about 200 East of the future structure #510 north toward County Road 500 South, ending just south of the CR 500 S easement; and a west extension running south from future structure #204 (west of CR 200 E), bored under Wea Creek and continuing south along the west side of CR 200 E to a point about 300 feet south of the south entrance to Wea Creek Orchard. The project’s total anticipated land disturbance is 6.87 acres.
David S. Byers moved to approve the Christopher B. Burke Engineering memo dated March 17, 2026; Thomas P. Murtaugh seconded the motion, which carried. Engineering consultants Jeff Cannaday and Dave Eichelberger were present for Christopher B. Burke Engineering; County Surveyor Zachariah Beasley was on record for staff review.
Board members did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes; the motion was entered as approved. Next steps include standard permitting, coordination for the boring under Wea Creek and incorporation of as-built information into the surveyor’s files once construction is complete.
