Chairman Kyle Nix read the council’s proposed 2026 board appointments, which included one‑year terms for members on the 4‑H Council, Extension Board, Alcohol Beverage Board, Alternative Education Center Board, Economic Development Board, Plan Commission, Property Tax Board of Appeals, River Hills Board, Solid Waste Board and other local boards. Several individuals were nominated for one‑year terms and one was nominated for a four‑year library board term; the council voted to approve the slate as presented.
Councilwoman Sherry Brown moved to approve the nominations; Councilman Jake Blackman seconded and the motion carried with the recorded vote shown in the minutes. The council then acknowledged receipt of the county clerk and county treasurer monthly reports for December; both acknowledgements were approved unanimously. Councilman Jake Blackman moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:02 p.m.; Councilwoman Jennie Capelle seconded and the motion carried 6–0.
