Harrison County Council adopts rule on salary discussions, adjusts part‑time SRO pay scale

The council also approved an amended salary ordinance to change the pay rate for part‑time school resource officers to the same tiered years‑of‑service structure used for full‑time patrol officers. Councilwoman Jennie Capelle moved to approve the amendment; Councilwoman Sherry Brown seconded and the motion passed 6–0.
Sheriff Nick Smith asked if the council could review the last two years of part‑time SRO pay to determine whether earlier payroll matched previously approved salary ordinances. The council recorded the request for follow up; no retroactive adjustments or formal findings were recorded during the meeting.
