Council approves several grants, CRA amendments and ordinances including an Ohio vaccine grant

Following public comment and a major resolution, Cincinnati City Council approved a series of first readings, suspensions and roll-call votes to accept a state vaccine grant, award river-trail and bike-path grants, transfer capital funds, and adopt Community Reinvestment Area amendments tied to affordable units.
After public comment and the Farmer Music Center debate, the council moved through routine business and approved multiple items by roll call.
The council authorized the city manager to apply for and accept a grant of up to $288,535 from the Ohio Department of Health to support childhood immunization efforts (item 30). The body also accepted a $1,000,000 OKI grant for Ohio River Trail safety improvements through Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove (item 31).
Council approved an emergency appropriation and transfer of $114,948.92 from unappropriated surplus into a permanent improvement fund account (item 32). Members also approved a series of Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) tax-exemption amendments and a new CRA agreement (items 35–38) that city staff said would extend abatements for redevelopment in exchange for commitments to include affordable units at specified AMI levels.
Council member Jeffries presented the CRA items and said each agreement includes affordable-housing commitments for a portion of units. All of the above items passed at roll call as recorded in the transcript; votes were recorded in the meeting minutes for each item.
