Police chief reports new tasers, hiring and traffic school start date

At the Feb. 18 Committee of the Whole meeting, Police Chief Robert Hendrickson reported operational updates for the Police Department. Hendrickson said the department has taken delivery of new Taser equipment and is advertising for a new entry-level officer.
Hendrickson also said the department’s Traffic School is scheduled to begin March 15 and that the department received Firearms Safety grant funding. The minutes present these items as informational updates; no hiring action or grant appropriation was recorded in the Committee of the Whole minutes.
The meeting then continued to finance and other departmental updates and adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
