Castle Dale city officials reviewed a proposed 2026–27 budget and heard an update that the town's Permanent Community Impact Board (CIB) grant application for an All-Abilities Park has advanced to the priority list.
Treasurer Carolyn Montgomery presented a budget worksheet showing total revenues of $866,692 and total expenditures of $866,000 and asked council members to review departmental lines and return feedback within two weeks. The mayor noted the council reduced some departmental allocations to balance the budget and that county decisions later in the year could require additional adjustments.
Mayor Danny Van Wagoner reported that the city’s application for $300,200 from the Permanent Community Impact Board (CIB) for an All-Abilities Park advanced to the priority list for consideration on June 4, 2026. Van Wagoner said the request is for a full grant with no loan portion and that he will attend the CIB meeting as part of advancing the application.
The treasurer also noted the remaining swimming pool debt is around $25,000 (mayor said he would confirm the exact amount). Council members were asked to submit budget feedback by email so staff can finalize recommended changes prior to a May approval deadline.
