Clayton County Board of Supervisors approves Berns subdivision plat, permits and three alcohol licenses

The board also approved claims presented for payment totaling $185,055.63. Doug Reimer moved to approve the claims and Steve Doeppke seconded; the motion carried with ayes from Doeppke, Ray Peterson and Reimer.
Other approved actions included a three-day riding group permit for "Clayton County SxS Riders" for July 31–August 2, 2026, and Class C Retail Alcohol Licenses with outdoor service for Elkader Golf and Country Club Inc., PromiseLand Winery, and Heron Hill Events, LLC (DBA The Barn on Heron Hill). Each of those motions carried unanimously.
The board denied a request from Soil and Water Conservation to use the rural garbage site to dispose of soil survey books.
