Contracts and awards: The city awarded multiple competitive-bid contracts: - Edgewood Pre-K Academy renovation to Damato Downs joint venture in the amount of $1,655,394.88 for construction management at-risk. - Roadway reconstruction, drainage and miscellaneous work to Tobacco and Sun Builders Inc. for approximately $687,780 (catch basin and pre-paving work). - Video Surveillance System Improvements and Expansion (Phases 1 and 2) to American Total Protection for $1,462,050.20, and a letter of intent for Phase 3 at $651,320.04 contingent on council approval of the 2027 capital budget. - HVAC improvements at the Bristol Police Department to Promek Inc. for $4,486,000.
Councilmembers noted the HVAC award addresses a longstanding temporary boiler situation at the police department and voted in favor of the contracts after motions and seconds. The surveillance project was advanced now to avoid a special meeting later; phase-3 work contingent on the 2027 capital budget.
Next steps: Mayor or acting mayor authorized to execute necessary documents to effectuate the contracts; staff will proceed with contract administration and schedule inspections and oversight per standard procurement practice.
