Local vendor pitches no‑cost utility funding for campus energy upgrades

Mitchell said the program involves funds that are set aside from utility bills and administered through the PUC; his firm helps districts apply for those funds and conduct site assessments. "Each school is eligible for up to $4 million per campus," Mitchell told the board, and he said the program could support EV charging and battery storage at little or no cost to the district.
Board members thanked Mitchell; no formal action was taken, and staff were asked to follow up to arrange an informational meeting with the district's facilities and business staff.
