Planning staff presented the annual 2025 implementation report for the town’s 2020 General Plan at the April 13 meeting, reviewing capital improvements completed in the past year and items still pending.
Planner Farhad highlighted accomplishments including roughly one mile of new sidewalks, about 1.5 miles of new bike lanes, completion of two new trails that fill gaps in the town trail network, completion of a permanent mural project at Fountain Park, and more than $126,000 in grants awarded to the town. Staff also described ongoing capital work such as Palamino Boulevard and a Shea Boulevard widening contract.
On outstanding actions, staff said the town has not yet implemented a general-plan monitoring system, has not hired the part-time grant-writer recommended in the plan, and needs to prepare a cost‑recovery and feasibility study tied to potential development of state trust land. Commissioners asked clarifying questions (for example, staff corrected a draft typo and confirmed the farmers market gained 10 new vendors in 2025). No formal action was required; staff will forward the annual report to council via email and continue work on implementation items.
