City attorney/staff told the council they could prepare a resolution in approximately two weeks to establish a three‑member council subcommittee (with rules about membership and public notice) and that staff would return with a presentation of current plans for the upcoming Glendale Glitters event by the last council meeting in June.
"Staff is already planning for this year's Glitters," parks staff said, and the council reached consensus for staff to present the planned footprint and vendor controls before the summer recess so members can offer input. Several council members suggested forming an initial working group to tackle immediate issues (vendors, trash, vendor licensing and safety logistics) and postponing larger structural decisions about event expansion to next year.
There was no final ordinance or vote at the workshop. City staff committed to preparing options and to returning with a formal presentation and, if directed, a resolution to create a subcommittee in the near term.
