Beaufort County council administrator Michael Moore said on the Beaufort County Report that Station 39 is the product of a multiyear effort funded through a county bond and intended to speed emergency medical services and fire response in a dense, growing part of the county.
"This has been a project a long time of work," said Michael Moore, the county council administrator. He said the initiative required "county council support to put forward the funding" and credited county staff and residents who will ultimately pay for and benefit from the facility. The transcript did not specify bond amounts or the project budget.
Moore said Bluffton Township Fire District personnel will operate Station 39 alongside county emergency management EMS, creating a matched fire-and-EMS presence that can respond across the area. "We'll have fire and EMS that can respond, you know, on a moment's notice all throughout this area of the county," he said.
Asked about accountability to voters and the project's public-safety purpose, Moore said the county aims to improve response times and that current performance is "kind of behind." The interview did not include baseline response times or target metrics.
On project management, Moore identified Jared, an assistant county administrator who oversees the capital improvements team, as the county lead. He also named Frasier Construction as the contractor that will build the station; Moore said Jared's team will oversee funding and delivery while the county relies on its construction partner to complete the work. Specific contract values and a completion schedule were not provided in the interview.
The segment ended with the host thanking Moore; no formal council vote or adoption of an ordinance was recorded on air. Next procedural steps, timelines, and budget documents were not discussed during the broadcast.
