Fredonia board accepts 38-year teacher—s retirement, approves probationary math appointment

The Fredonia Central School District board on May 5 accepted the retirement of Linda Kaminsky, an early-childhood teacher, effective July 1, 2026, and recognized her 38 years of service.
Board members offered tributes describing Kaminsky as a long-serving, influential educator. Kaminsky addressed the board, saying it had been a pleasure to teach in the district where she herself had been a student.
The board also approved the probationary appointment of Emma Brown to a mathematics 7-12 teaching position (pending certification). Administrators described Brown—s interview performance and qualifications, noting her UB credentials and additional certifications in computer science that offer curricular flexibility. The board recorded the motion, second and approval.
Superintendent remarks also announced the resignation of middle-school assistant principal Andrea Marsh, who accepted a principal post elsewhere and will depart in June; the district plans to begin the replacement search.
