Board places measure on ballot to reduce school board terms from five to three years

District clerk Chris Morrison explained that proposition two, if approved by voters, would take effect July 1 and change the length of future member terms. The clerk also announced two seats will be contested in the upcoming election, with three candidates named for those seats.
Board members moved and seconded the action to place the propositions on the voting machines; the motion passed with one recorded opposition during voice roll call. The special district meeting recessed to May 19 at 2:00 p.m., the date of the vote.
