The staff presentation emphasized the design intent: individual teaching pods, a space hub themed for Launch, and hybrid in-person events such as graduation and student activities. Staff also characterized the lease terms for Millennia as favorable and said the site includes potential partners such as San Diego State and Southwestern College.
A public commenter asked for clearer public information about Launch and urged better district communication; staff said design and lease work had been underway about a year and a half and construction was on track for the coming school year. The board passed the motion with four trustees voting yes and one absent.
