Board approves relocation of Town and Country Elementary to Joyce Clark campus, creating K–8 site

The Sierra Vista Unified District governing board voted unanimously to relocate Town and Country Elementary School to the current Joyce Clark Middle School campus, approve renaming the receiving campus to Town and Country Neighborhood School, and configure the site as a K–8 for the 2026–27 school year.
Administration told the board the move addresses facility limitations at the current Town and Country site (no gym or stage) and provides room for growth after the district voted to close Joyce Clark Middle School. The transfer is intended to allow incoming eighth graders to remain enrolled at Town and Country in 2026–27 while the district transitions several schools to K–7 models for the immediate year.
Officials explained campus planning details, including that middle- and elementary-grade instructional spaces would be separated by fencing and that principals have prepared campus maps to preserve a middle-school experience for older students. The district also said preschool services currently serving the Town and Country campus will move to Carmichael Elementary, and the present Town and Country campus will be repurposed as the Clark Community campus to house district support offices in honor of Joyce Clark.
Board members asked about logistics for eighth graders on the same site as younger students; administration responded that schedules and campus maps have been designed to keep grade levels separated and to preserve appropriate programming for older students.
The motion to approve the relocation was moved and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote recorded as 5-0.
Next steps: district staff will complete required enrollment updates in the SIS and notify families of site changes and program relocations prior to the 2026–27 school year.
