The North Augusta City Council voted unanimously Monday to enter executive session to discuss a real-estate matter in Riverside Village.
The city attorney requested the executive session under the authority of section 30-4-7(A)(2) of the state code, citing the purpose as the purchase of real estate in Riverside Village. The mayor asked for a motion to enter executive session; council members moved and seconded the motion and the mayor announced the vote was unanimous.
City Administrator Jim Clifford said staff may add a council action regarding Riverside Village based on guidance received in the executive session and that any such item would be published in the council packet on Friday and on the public agenda. The mayor stated the council would not return to the city chambers after the executive session and adjourned the study session to executive session.
The study session transcript records the motion, second and unanimous approval to enter executive session but does not include substantive discussion of the underlying property matter (the discussion occurred in closed session).
