Board elects Dan Hogan chair, names Duncan vice chair and Aaron McGee secretary/treasurer

The Sports Authority board elected Director Dan Hogan to serve as board chair during a show-of-hands vote at its Bridgestone Arena meeting. Director Pulley nominated Hogan and the board declared a majority in favor.
The vote followed a procedural memo from the board attorney outlining acceptable voting methods under the authority’s rules and the Tennessee Open Meetings Act, the acting chair said. Chad Duncan accepted the vice chair role after receiving a nomination from the floor; Aaron McGee was nominated and elected to the combined secretary/treasurer position.
Counsel Josh had advised the board that nominations proceed in the order set out in the bylaws and that no second is required for nominations; the board applied a show-of-hands method to expedite the process. The acting chair announced the outcome on the record.
The board’s adoption of new officers concludes the agenda for the meeting and establishes the executive team that will convene the executive committee to schedule the annual meeting and other transitional matters. The acting chair said the next board meeting is set for Thursday, May 21, at Bridgestone Arena.
