Committee updates employment and reference-checks policy, will add statutory titles to packet

The Policy Committee reviewed revisions to the district’s employment and reference-check policy on May 12, a document the presenter said combines the district’s existing Shipman-based language with recent CABE model updates and added legal references.
"I melded together a Shipman version that we had and then the CABE revisions," the presenter said, noting the shaded sections in the packet show new language. She pointed to page 12 where Connecticut state statutes are listed by number and said she will add the titles of those public acts to avoid confusion.
Committee members offered no substantive objections and the presenter said she will forward the revised policy to the Instructional Committee on May 18 and include it in the Board packet for May 19.
