Sweet Home board honors teachers and student-athlete ahead of year-end events

Dr. Chan also announced that high school math teacher Mark Isadorek was selected as a New York State Master Teacher and will join the Western New York cohort; Dr. Chan described the program as "a highly influential" and "highly prestigious" initiative that mentors teachers across the state. High school chemistry teacher Dr. Sarah English was recognized as the recipient of the 2026 MRM Chemical Education Region Award for Excellence in High School Teaching; Dr. Chan said she will be honored at a May 17 ceremony in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and that she plans to donate the $1,500 award to the Sweet Home Chemistry Club.
The board highlighted upcoming "Music in May" concerts and several end'of'year receptions to honor retirees, volunteers and staff receiving tenure. The recognitions were presented as part of the superintendent's report; no formal board action was required.
The board encouraged community attendance at the concerts and recognition events.
