Board approves routine agenda by block vote; 6B passes with one abstention

The Westbury Union Free School District board approved the bulk of its May 12 agenda by a block vote and later took a separate vote on one resolution that drew an abstention.
The board moved to block‑vote the agenda with exceptions (items 6M and 13E were withdrawn; items 6B and 11C were reserved for later votes). The motion to approve the block was moved and seconded and carried on voice votes. The minutes and resolutions (1E–1H) were also approved during that sequence.
Item 6B was moved and seconded separately. The board recorded Trustee Wilson as abstaining "due to family ties"; the result was announced as "six to nothing with one abstension." The board then moved to place policy 11C for a first reading (two readings required), and later voted to go into executive session on personnel matters and to adjourn for the evening.
