Kim, representing the finance team, told the council the governmentwide net position is approximately $111 million, with roughly $43 million in governmental funds and about $68 million in business-type activities (water, sewer and rental/community facilities). Revenues and transfers were said to total about $8 million (an increase of roughly $76,000 over the prior year) and expenses about $6.5 million (an increase of approximately $434,000). Staff reported that public safety accounted for a portion of the expense increases and noted continued legacy pension liabilities; the successor agency balance remains negative but improved by $141,000 in the last year.
The finance presenter said there is no fiscal impact to accepting the audit report itself; the report reflects budgeted items and staff recommended acceptance. No public speakers addressed the audit. Council moved to accept the audit report and the motion was approved as recorded in the meeting.
