Kim and Cody said they currently bake “about 300 loaves a week” and sell through a grocery in Redlands and farmers markets. Nacho Macho’s representatives said a typical plate would start at $9 with meat available for an extra $3 (chicken) or $5 (carne asada). Connor described on-site squeezing of sugarcane and a refill discount program for customers who bring bottles. Omran said his coconut water and coconut milk products are produced in a licensed Garden Grove kitchen; he noted a plan to move from plastic bottles to glass later and discussed a $7 price point that could become $10 with glass bottles. Cindy, who markets reusable cooling neck bands and visors, said her product uses a small polymer gel insert and that her business carries a $3 million liability policy.
The board also approved a teen vendor, Lydia, who described a press-on nail business she runs from home. The board’s approval for Lydia is conditional: staff and the board specified the applicant must secure any necessary minor work permit from her school and the City of Palm Springs legal department must confirm compliance. Lydia told the board she has a planned start date of May 21 and that the business license is currently in her mother’s name.
Staff confirmed that the approved vendors will follow festival rules about packaging, temporary kitchen equipment and permitted container types; some applicants said they would check local licensing before selling prepared foods on site. Faith (staff) and other staff members will follow up with applicants on licensing and any required adjustments.
